An Interesting Lunch...
The wretched heat of the summer had not even come close to a hault, and neither had all the honky tonk festivities. I work at LoneStar Music in the Gruene Historic District located in New Braunfels, Texas. It is an everything but boring job. We have live in stores where artists play for the public. The meet and greets allow fans to get up close and personal with artists, and we even offer free samples of Ziegenbock from the keg behind the counter. On August 30, our special guest happened to be the one and only Robert Earl Keen. It was a blast and I was pretty excited, but he looked a little different than I remember from my childhood. Age hits even the all stars of music I suppose. He is still one of the classic artists that will always be remembered, on top of him releasing a new album , Ready for Confetti. Usually when an artist that has produced many favorite albums produces a new album, you hear comments like "So different than the usual". I disagree. I think Robert's new album is just as great as anything else he has done in the past if not better and I really enjoyed listening to it.
